Community Outreach Scholarship
The Community Outreach Scholarship is available for Girl Scout of Eastern Missouri participants who have actively participated in a Community Outreach program or Community Outreach troop. This one-time scholarship ranges from $500 to $1000 and will be awarded to the Eastern Missouri Girl Scout Outreach participant to support their pursuit of furthering their post-secondary education by attending an accredited, non-profit two-year, four-year, or technical/trade college.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a high school senior and an active member of Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri and has participated in a Community Outreach program (GSBB or TUF) or a Community Outreach troop
- Be a registered student in good standing according to their school standards
- Plan to attend an accredited, non-profit two-year, four-year, or technical/trade college
- Have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
Selection Process
An adult Girl Scout selection committee will review all submissions based on:
- Quality of essays and completion of application materials
- Letters of recommendation
Follow-up
Upon selection, students must submit a recent photo, head and shoulders, to be distributed with a news release and published on the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri website.
Students may not receive funds until enrollment in a post-high school educational institution is verified by GSEM staff.
