Edward R. Kunst Scholarship - Ritenour Pride and Promise Foundation

Edward J. Kunst, M.D., is a Ritenour graduate (class of 1972). While at Ritenour, he played varsity football and baseball. In 1976, he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri—Columbia where he had also been inducted into the honor society of Phi Beta Kappa. In 1980, Dr. Kunst graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri School of Medicine where he was also inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Dr. Kunst is board certified in Internal Medicine; he has practiced as a primary care physician, done medical research, and worked as a medical educator from 1980 to the present. In 2011 he was named to the Ritenour Hall of Fame, an honor he treasures.
The Edward J. Kunst, M.D. Scholarship is to be awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding success in math, science, or both at an advanced level (AP level or equivalent), and who will be pursuing a college degree (in any area).
Requirements for application:
1) GPA of 3.25 or greater
2) Graduating from Ritenour HS in 2019
3) Completion of or enrollment in advanced level math and science courses;
4) Letters of recommendation from three math and/or science instructors

The scholarship will be a one-time, non renewable award of $1000, payable to the institution of higher learning where the recipient is enrolled the year following graduation.
Applicants’ discipline records will be factored into the final award decision.
