The SumnerOne Scholarship program will award up to two (2) renewable $2,500 scholarships annually to one or more SumnerOne employees who has/have worked for at least one (1) year at the time of application deadline and are enrolled or plan to enroll part- or full-time in a Business or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) program of study. Each recipient will demonstrate financial need at an accredited, nonprofit, post-secondary technical/trade school, two-year college or four-year college/university he/she attends, or will attend in the United States.
To be eligible, the applicant must
• be an employee of SumnerOne who has worked for the company for at least one (1) year at the time of the application deadline;
• identify a Business or STEM field as the intended college major and degree;
• plan to enroll part- or full-time in an accredited, nonprofit, post-secondary technical/trade school, two-year or four-year college/university in the United States of America, including its territories;
• demonstrate unmet financial need, based on common methods for determination of unmet financial need then in practice by the St. Louis Community Foundation.
The Foundation is responsible for evaluation, selection and determination of award amount. Selection is made on quality of the essay, letter of recommendation, determination of financial need, and consideration of unusual circumstances. Award recipients will be mailed an award letter and all applicant scholarship statuses will be updated on Scholarship Central, so check the website regularly for updates.
Recipients may be considered for renewal for up to three additional undergraduate years, if a renewal application is submitted by the July 1 deadline and academic and financial eligibility criteria continue to be met. A link to apply for renewal of the SumnerOne scholarship will be emailed each spring to the email address we have on file for eligible recipients. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the St. Louis Community Foundation has current contact information on file (mailing address, email address, phone number and institution of enrollment).
