Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship

The Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship will be awarded to students who will enroll full time as undergraduate students in an accredited nonprofit two-year college or technical school program in the construction trades. Fifty students will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship that is renewable for one additional year.

Eligibility
To be eligible, the applicant must:
• be a graduating high school senior or have recently earned a high school equivalency diploma (GED, HiSET, TASC)
• plan to enroll full time in a nonprofit community college, technical school, trade school, vocational school or apprenticeship program in the United States of America
• intend to complete an associate degree, pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, or certificate program leading to work in the construction trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting, welding)
• have achieved a minimum grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, 456 on the GED, or 60 on the HiSET (at least an 8 on each subtest) or equivalent scores on a state-sanctioned test
• demonstrate financial need

Applicants should answer all questions that apply to them, not just the required questions. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of past academic performance, potential for continued success, the quality of the essay and recommendations, financial need, and evidence of the student’s commitment to the construction trades.

Children of Graybar employees may apply but will receive no preferential treatment in the selection process.

Notification
Application status will be changed from submitted to either awarded or denied in June. Applicants can view their status by logging in to their Scholarship Central account.

The Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship program is administered by the St. Louis Community Foundation. Eligibility, financial need, award recipients and award amount will be determined by the St. Louis Community Foundation.
