SumnerOne Scholarship

The SumnerOne Scholarship program will award renewable $2,500 scholarships annually to one or more SumnerOne employees or children of employees. Employees must have worked for at least one (1) year at the time of application deadline to be eligible or for their children to be eligible.

Employees applying for the scholarship must enrolled or plan to enroll part- or full-time in a Business, Science, Technology, Engineering or Math programs of study. Children of employees may be pursuing any major. However, preference will be given to students in Business, Science, Technology, Engineering or Math programs of study.

Each recipient will demonstrate financial need at an accredited, nonprofit, post-secondary technical/trade school, two-year college or four-year college/university they attend, or will attend in the United States.

Eligibility
To be eligible, employee applicants applicant must:
• be an employee of SumnerOne who has worked for the company for at least one (1) year at the time of the application deadline
• identify a Business or Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field as the intended college major and degree
• plan to enroll part- or full-time in an accredited, nonprofit, post-secondary technical/trade school, two-year or four-year college/university in the United States of America, including its territories
• demonstrate unmet financial need, based on common methods for determination of unmet financial need then in practice by the St. Louis Community Foundation

To be eligible, children of employees must:
• be a dependent child of an employee of SumnerOne who has worked for the company for at least one (1) year at the time of the application deadline
• plan to enroll part- or full-time in an accredited, nonprofit, post-secondary technical/trade school, two-year or four-year college/university in the United States of America, including its territories
• demonstrate unmet financial need, based on common methods for determination of unmet financial need then in practice by the St. Louis Community Foundation

Selection
The St. Louis community Foundation is responsible for evaluation, selection and determination of award amount. Selection is made on quality of the essay, letter of recommendation, determination of financial need, and consideration of unusual circumstances. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please answer all questions that apply to you, even if they are not marked “required." Employment will be verified by SumnerOne. The following information will be shared about those selected for awards will be shared with SumnerOne personnel: name, contact information and college.

Recipients may be considered for renewal for up to three additional undergraduate years if a renewal application is submitted by the deadline and academic and financial eligibility criteria continue to be met. A link to apply for renewal of the SumnerOne scholarship will be emailed each spring to the email address we have on file for eligible recipients. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the St. Louis Community Foundation has current contact information on file (mailing address, email address, phone number and institution of enrollment).

Notification
Application status will be changed from submitted to either offered or denied in June. Applicants can view their status by logging in to their Scholarship Central account.
