Missouri Girls State/Missouri Boys State Citizen Leadership Scholarships presented by Lindenwood University.

This application is open to 2024 participants of The American Legion Boys State of Missouri and The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State held at LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY from June 22-June 29, 2024

The Missouri Girls State/Missouri Boys State Citizen Leadership Scholarships are two (2) full 4-year (8 consecutive semesters) college scholarships at Lindenwood University. Each scholarship is valued at $19,900 covering full tuition and requires on-campus residency. Housing costs are not included in this scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to one (1) student participant from the 2024 MBS session and one (1) student participant from the 2024 MGS session. This scholarship is offered through the Lindenwood University Office of Admissions. The scholarship will be awarded based on merit and need of the applicant. The applicant must plan to be enrolled as a full-time student at Lindenwood University and maintain a 3.0 grade point average throughout the term of the scholarship. The applicant must participate fully and complete the entire week of Missouri Boys State and Missouri Girls State to be eligible. The Citizen Leadership Scholarship exceeds and replaces any Merit Scholarship a student is offered at Lindenwood.

The MBS Trust and MGS Scholarship Committees will review the applications and determine finalists to be interviewed during the week of Missouri Boys State at LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY in Saint Charles. Finalists will be notified of the time, date and place for interviews during the week of the MBS and MGS program. The scholarships will be awarded at the Final Assembly at Missouri Boys State and Missouri Girls State on Saturday morning, June 29. A first and second runner-up will be selected by the scholarship committee. The recipients must meet the scholarship criteria set forth by the scholarship committee as communicated at the time of the award. Should the awardee fail to maintain academic performance during the scholarship term, the remaining scholarship funds will be available to the first runner-up and then second runner-up.
