Glenn L. Moller, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

The Glenn L. Moller, Jr. Memorial Scholarship is for students from the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County who have overcome adversity to prepare for future success. Preference will be given to applicants who have been touched and affected by the programs of Unleashing Potential. High School seniors, high school graduates and current college students are eligible to apply. Recipients will demonstrate financial need at an eligible two year or four year nonprofit college, university, or technical college, and may apply for renewal of the award for three additional undergraduate years. Unleashing Potential was previously known as Neighborhood Houses.

Eligibility:

  • Graduating senior, high school graduate, or current college student
  • Resident of the City of St. Louis or St. Louis County
  • Participation in a Unleashing Potential (Neighborhood Houses) program a benefit but not a requirement
  • College preparatory academic record and potential for success
  • Demonstrated financial need at an eligible college or university
  • Full-time or part-time enrollment at an eligible nonprofit two-year or four-year college, university or technical college.

Selection:
Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of

  • student’s extracurricular involvement, including work, that demonstrates responsibility and/or leadership
  • essays that demonstrate strength of character and an attitude that will lead to success
  • two letters of recommendation—one from a teacher, one from a supervisor or another teacher. An applicant who has participated in an Unleashing Potential or Neighborhood Houses program should choose an Unleashing Potential or Neighborhood Houses staff member as their second reference.
  • transcript and standardized test results that demonstrate past success and potential for future success
  • financial need

Financial need will be evaluated based on information provided by the student, family and college:

FAFSA Student Aid Report
• Financial Aid award letter from the college the student will attend.

Eligibility for renewal of the Moller Scholarship is based on satisfactory progress toward a degree and continued demonstration of financial need.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please answer all questions that apply to you, even if they are not marked “required.”
