University City High School Performing Arts Scholarship
The University City High School Performing Arts Scholarship was established to encourage students interested in performing arts careers to earn a college degree.
The Scholarship will annually award renewable scholarships to University City High School seniors who will enroll full-time as undergraduate students in an accredited, nonprofit, two-year or four-year college or university in the United States. Each qualified recipient will be entering a performing arts major or pursuing an education degree and planning to teach performing arts.
Eligibility
To be eligible, the applicant must:
- be graduating from University City High School this year.
- be pursuing a college major in the performing arts and planning a career in the performing arts OR be pursuing an education degree with plans to teach performing arts
- plan to enroll full-time in an accredited, nonprofit, two-year or four-year college or university in the United States.
Selection
Selection will be based on the student’s participation in University City High School Performing Arts concerts, performances and productions, participation in other performing arts, and the quality of the essay and letter(s) of
recommendation. Unmet financial need will be considered for finalists if a recipient cannot be selected solely on the specifications listed above.
Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please answer all questions that apply to you, even if they are not marked “required.”
Renewal
Recipients may reapply for award consideration for a maximum of four years of undergraduate funding provided they continue to make satisfactory progress toward a degree and continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
Notification
Application status will be changed from submitted to either offered or denied in June. Applicants can view their status by logging in to their Scholarship Central account.
