Avis Renee Riddle Memorial Scholarship
Raymond Riddle and Iris Robinson Riddle in honor of their daughter have created the Avis Renee Riddle Memorial Scholarship Fund. Avis was diagnosed with RMS a rare form of cancer at the age of 15. She was academically gifted and highly involved in school activities. She loved school and had a zest for learning all things new and exciting. Although cancer caused her to miss a year and a half of high school, she returned, aced the ACT and received a score worthy of a full Presidential Scholarship from Harris Stowe State University. Avis was a breath of fresh air, you knew it when she walked into the room. No one was a stranger and she willingly volunteered for several organizations or whomever was in need. Avis fought cancer with sheer determination, however, she relapsed 6 times within her 6.5 year journey. June 9, 2020, at the age of 22 – she transition from labor to reward.
