Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Scholarship
SHPE STL will offer multiple (minimum of 2) merit and need based scholarships in 2025 worth $1,000 for each. SHPE STL will dedicate one (1) of those scholarships specifically to a Hispanic woman/Latina. The scholarship recognizes a student’s academic achievements (see below for GPA criteria) and is available to Hispanic/Latino(a) students from the Greater St. Louis region enrolled for post-secondary course work in the Fall of 2025. Students must submit a resume, one (1) essay, unofficial or official transcript, and one (1) letter of recommendation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or graduate degree OR graduating high school senior
- Full-time or part-time enrollment during Fall 2025 semester
- Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or similar major We are looking for non-health care majors
- 3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher (If below 3.0 GPA, see below for additional essay requirements)
- Admitted or enrolled in an accredited college/university, institution of higher learning or trade/vocational school in the United States of America.
- Live in STL Metro area (MO Counties – Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, St. Charles, St. Louis, St. Louis City, Warren, Washington; IL Counties – Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, St. Clair)
Recipient is required to attend an in-person scholarship ceremony on July 25th, 2025 sponsored by the Hispanic Scholarship Alliance of St. Louis. Ceremony will be in St. Louis, MO.

Include any additional information you believe will distinguish you from other applicants.
