Missouri Insurance Education Foundation
The Missouri Insurance Education Foundation offers scholarships for high school graduating seniors and for college juniors and seniors.
FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS
Purpose: To provide scholarships to four (4) deserving Missouri high school graduating seniors
interested in or intending to pursue an insurance, risk management or actuarial science course of
study in a Missouri college or university.
Award Components: Four (4) $1,500 scholarships and individual certificates awarded to four (4)
students selected by the Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Criteria:
- Applicant must be a Missouri resident.
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award.
- Applicant must be a full-time Missouri college/university freshman in the coming academic
- year with an interest or intent to pursue an insurance, risk management, or actuarial science course of study in an accredited Missouri college or university.
- Applicant must demonstrate scholarship — in the complete sense — consistent with capacity and circumstances.
FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
Purpose: To provide scholarships to deserving Missouri resident business students majoring in
insurance or a related area of study in a Missouri college or university.
Award Components: One (1) $2,500 scholarship and an individual certificate will be awarded to the
applicant of the C. Lawrence Leggett Scholarship and Five (5) $2,000 scholarships and an individual
certificate will be awarded to the applicants of the Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship
with selection made by the Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship Committee.
Criteria:
- Applicant must be a Missouri resident.
- Applicant must be a junior or senior at an accredited college or university in Missouri during the fall semester of year 2015.
- Applicant must be majoring in insurance or a directly related field of study.
- Applicant must be a full-time Missouri college/university student.
- Applicant must demonstrate scholarship — in the complete sense — consistent with capacity and circumstances. The applicant should have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 out of 4.0.
- Preference may be given to a student who demonstrates financial need.
