Spirit of St. Louis County Rotary Club Scholarship
Spirit of St. Louis County Rotary Club awards scholarships based on the desire and need of the recipient for their chosen field. Applicants for a Spirit of St. Louis County Rotary Scholarship must:
• Be a student at Pattonville, Parkway North or any private/parochial school within the comunities primarily served by the Spirit of St. Louis County Rotary Club. These include Bridgeton, Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights, Overland, St. Ann, St. John and Westport. The student must also reside in one of these communities.
• Plan to graduate high school in the Spring of 2023
• Plan to enroll at a nonprofit, accredited post-secondary program leading to a bachelor’s or associate degree, technical degree, or certificate
• Complete an online scholarship application at My Scholarship Central, myscholarshipcentral.org
• Demonstrate significant financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or similar need calculations
• Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or work supervisor
All completed applications will be screened by a committee of Rotarians. Examples of factors considered in selection may include the following:
• Financial need
• Academic accomplishments, school attendance, extracurricular activities
• Work experience, community service, volunteerism
• Quality of responses to additional questions
• Special consideration may be given to students pursuing a technical degree
Finalists for the scholarships will be interviewed by a committee of Rotarians.
