Chester O. Hoefner Memorial Scholarship - Technical/Trade School
The Wright City R-II School Foundation, thanks to 1946 graduate Chester O. Hoefner’s gift, would like to give preference to a qualifying student(s) who wishes to attend a technical/trade school.
The purpose of the Chester O. Hoefner Tech/Trade School Scholarship is to provide monetary award as assistances to a qualifying student(s) who are pursuing a Career and Technical Education Program of Study for their education and skilled training goals.
The scholarship will be used or defray expenses associated with the students planned area of career and technical study. Examples where this scholarship could be applied include tuition, tools, and other personal class/job requirements.
The scholarship amount, not to exceed $5,000, will be determined by the Scholarship Committee and will be based on need and cost of the program. Evaluation of application shall include the application content, recommendation(s), and how the committee feels the applicant has conveyed their desire to grow and develop as a contributing member of the community as well as a 15-20 minute interview.
Eligibility Criteria
- High School Senior at Wright City High School
- 2.5 GPA or higher
- 90% attendance rate
- Must earn bronze National Career Readiness Certificate (based on WorkKeys assessments in Applied Math, Workplace Documents, and Graphic Literacy) or composite ACT score of 18 can be substituted.
- Verified Graduation plan to meet all sequential credits in a Career and Technical Education coursework preferred.
