Jewish War Veterans Heritage Post 644

Jewish War Veterans Heritage Post 644 of St. Louis is pleased to administer two scholarships.

The $1,000 Ted and Rachael Pevnick Family Scholarship, applicable to either vocational or academic education. This honors the World War II European U.S. Army Service of Ted Pevnick, his later Missouri National Guard Service and service of Ted and Racheal Pevnick‘s family to the greater St. Louis community.

The $1,000 Chuck Sandroff Scholarship, applicable to either vocational or academic education. This honors the Viet Nam era U.S. Army Service of Chuck Sandroff and his later service to the greater St. Louis community

Students can apply to both scholarships on this application but can only be awarded one scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • High school senior, or currently enrolled undergraduate students (vocational school, community college, or university)
  • Must live in one of the following counties: Illinois – Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, St. Clair; Missouri – Boone, Cole, Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, Pulaski, St. Charles, St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Warren.
  • Applicant must be of Jewish faith
  • Applicant must be related to either a Jewish Veteran or a currently serving member of U.S. Forces (eligible relatives include parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousin)

Scholarship cannot be used for graduate level studies.

Applications will be reviewed by Committee members of the Post 644. The application deadline is April 30, 2023, with the award taking place May 28th during our Memorial Day observance at the Millstone Campus in Creve Couer, Missouri.
