Flourish Initiative’s Traditional Scholarship
Flourish is an independent nonprofit organization serving youth encountering educational and economic barriers. It was initially founded by employees of Veterans United Home Loans and their values and commitment to enhance lives and sponsored by the Veterans United Foundation. The Flourish Initiative Traditional Scholarship is awarded to students of color who are currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program within 30 miles of Boone County and are experiencing financial need. The scholarship ranges from $1000-$7500 and is disbursed across two semesters. Recipients of this scholarship will receive additional personal and professional development opportunities, as well as mentorship opportunities. This scholarship is awarded based on financial need and academic achievement. Recipients of this scholarship may be eligible for a flex spending scholarship, to assist with financial barriers outside of tuition and educational needs.
Eligibility
Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree 30 miles from Boone County
Member of an underrepresented racial or ethnic marginalized community
18-22 years old at the time of applying
U.S Citizen at the time of applying
