Chester O. Hoefner Memorial Scholarship - College

The Wright City R-II School District Foundation, thanks to 1946 graduate Chester O. Hoefner’s gift, will give out two (2) one-time scholarships not to exceed $5,000 each (of which, one (1) is preferred for a technical/trade school applicant and one (1) scholarship not to exceed $10,000 to qualifying Wright City High School students enrolled in the current school year. The latter will be renewable if the student a) maintains full-time status (12 or more hours per semester), b) maintains a 3.0 or more cumulative G.P.A. and c) volunteers a minimum of 3 hours in the year prior to renewal for one (1) of the following organizations: Wright City R-II School District, Wright City Alumni Association, and/or the Wright City R-II School District Foundation (Foundation). The volunteering can be conducted on the student’s behalf by a family member. All three (3) requirements for renewal must be communicated/documented to the Foundation by September 15th in order for the renewal to occur for the Fall term. The first two (2) requirements for renewal must be communicated/documented to the Foundation by February 15th in order for the renewal to occur for the Spring term.

The Foundation Board will set up interviews in April. Please come dressed professionally as if you were interviewing for a job. You will be asked approximately 12-15 questions. Time for the interview will be approximately 20 minutes.
