Paul F. Young Memorial Scholarship

The Paul F. Young Memorial Scholarship Fund provides educational financial assistance to individuals who have set goals and are motivated to learn a skill set that aids them in improving their economic status. This scholarship is open to students pursuing a certificate or associate degree and will be awarded for the SPRING 2025 semester.

Eligibility
To be eligible, the applicant must:

  • be a Missouri resident living in the city of St. Louis or the counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, Franklin, Lincoln, or Warren.
  • have a cumulative high school or college GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4-point scale or have earned a high school equivalency certificate.
  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • plan to enroll full-time or part-time (at least 6 hours) at an accredited, nonprofit, trade/technical school or two-year college in Missouri.
  • plan to enter the workforce upon completion of an associate degree or certification program.
  • demonstrate unmet financial.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please answer all questions that apply to you, even if they are not marked “required.” This scholarship is not for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Selection
Selection will be based on the student’s contributions to the communities in which they live, the quality of the essay and letter(s) of recommendation, the student’s academic record, and consideration of financial circumstances.

Renewal
Recipients may reapply for award consideration for a maximum of two years of undergraduate funding provided they continue to make satisfactory progress toward a degree and continue to meet the eligibility criteria.

Notification
Application status will be changed from submitted to either offered or denied in December. Applicants can view their status by logging in to their Scholarship Central account. Funds will be sent to recipients’ schools in August.
