Tabernacle Community Development Corporation Scholarship
An education in today’s society is an imperative for anyone desiring to build a sound future. One of the biggest obstacles high school students face is the daunting task of securing financial resources to cover the cost of higher education. As a means to aid in lifting that burden, Tabernacle Community Development Inc. and The Tabernacle partner to offer two African-American seniors in high school scholarships to assist with post-secondary education. The following is the criteria:
General Criteria
- Graduating Senior
- African American
- Planning to attend a 2 or 4 year college/university or technical/trade school (will be asked to provide proof of acceptance)
- Commited to monthly check in of 1st and 2nd year of college via phone or in person visit to a member of the scholarship selection committee and presentation of first and second semester grades
1 scholarship will be awarded to a student from St. Louis Public Schools, Ferguson Florissant School District, or Riverview Gardens School District. Applicants from these districts must have at least a 2.0 GPA.
1 scholarship will be awarded to a student from a St. Louis area high school. Applicants for this scholarship must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
Each scholarship is $1,000 and will be paid in two installments.
