Finish Line Degree Completion Grant

This application cycle will end 06/30/26 in its current form. A new cycle with new eligibility requirements will open on 7/1/26.

The Finish Line Degree Completion Grant from Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation (MSLF) is a program that assists Missouri students who either have left school with an outstanding balance OR who are in their final semester and have exhausted all federal financial aid options.

This grant may help if:
1. You want to return to your school but have an outstanding balance.
2. You are one semester away from graduating but have exhausted your federal financial aid.

MSLF may pay up to $1,500. If the total exceeds $1,500, MSLF may reach out to your school to explore a partnership to reduce the remaining balance. Additionally, MSLF will contact you directly to discuss what portion you may be able to contribute.

Eligible students will be identified by the participating school and must:

  • Be a Missouri resident.
  • Have a current Student Aid Index (SAI) of 12,000 or less on the FAFSA.
  • Meet academic progress standards as set by the school.
  • Be an undergraduate student who has not yet completed a degree.
  • Have not already received MSLF’s Finish Line Degree Completion Grant.

If you owe a Back Balance, you must also:

  • Have completed at least 75% of credits/hours required for degree completion.
  • Plan to re-enroll at an eligible Missouri school.
  • Be stopped-out (not enrolled) for at least one term (not to include summer term).
  • Have an outstanding balance at an eligible Missouri school.

If you have exhausted all federal financial aid, you must also:

  • Be enrolled in your final semester of the academic degree program.
  • Have no additional federal funding available.
  • Have a certified need to cover direct educational costs.

If this award is used for educational expenses that are not required for your academic program, such as housing, meals or transportation, your scholarship may be considered taxable income. You should consult your tax advisor about your specific situation.
This program is administered by the Financial Aid Office in accordance with program rules and applicable laws. Grants are the decision of the MSLF and the participating school.
