Hazelwood Central Alumni Scholarships
The Hazelwood Central Alumni of the class of 2004 have created scholarships that embody the values and mission of our school by supporting students in their journey to become lifelong learners and global citizens. They were created with the goal of continuing a culture of high expectations and excellence. These alums aim to empower graduating seniors to pursue higher education and develop the 21st-century skills necessary for success in an ever-changing world. By recognizing academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement, the Hazelwood Central Alum Scholarships invests in students who exemplify the drive to make a positive impact locally and globally.
There are four scholarship opportunities. All applicants must be seniors graduating from Hazelwood Central High School.
Hawk Community Service Award $500
- Students must provide documentation of at least 50 hours of community service
- GPA of 2.0 or higher
Lavena Johnson Scholarship $500
- Graduating senior from Hazelwood Central
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
Bright Future Scholarship $625
- Planning to attend an HBCU
- Pursuing a career in education or STEM
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
Preference will be given to students whose parents or guardians attended Hazelwood Central High School.
Selection Criteria
• Academic performance and potential.
• Community service and leadership experience.
• Quality of video submission.
• Alignment with the scholarship’s mission and values.
Notification will be no later than April 26, 2025. Students will required to provide proof of enrollment before the scholarship is disbursed. Scholarships may be used for tuition, fees, books, or other educational expenses.
