Fred E. Kiefer and Florence E. Kiefer Scholarship
The Fred E. and Florence E. Kiefer Scholarship supports St. Louis area current college students who are active in their church and have financial need. This is a one-time award; however, recipients are encouraged to re-apply for consideration and will be given preference in the evaluation process. This opportunity was established in 1997 by St. Louis residents Fred and Florence Kiefer.
Eligibility:
Based on the goals of Mr. and Mrs. Kiefer, recipients of the scholarship award will:
- be from the St. Louis metropolitan region,
- be an active member of a church or school related church group,
- maintain at least a B academic record (3.0 on a 4-point scale), and
- have no police record.
Selection Criteria:
Recipients will demonstrate evidence of church involvement, academic strength, financial need, will certify that they have no police record. Preference will be given to continuing college students and prior year recipients. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please answer all questions that apply to you, even if they are not marked “required.” Application status will be changed from submitted to either offered or denied in June. Applicants can view their status by logging in to their Scholarship Central account.

Eligibility, financial need, and award amount for these scholarship programs will be determined by the St. Louis Community Foundation. - To be considered for this scholarship, your Scholarship Central General Application MUST include your last semester (Fall) transcript with grades and GPA. If you previously uploaded an earlier transcript, please upload a new transcript to your General Application and change your answer to the GPA question. If your college choice has changed, please update that as well.

- ESSAY: Tell us about your gifts and talents and how education will help you further develop those gifts and talents. How will you use your gifts and talents to make a difference in your career? (500 words or less).
- HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT: If you are in college and have completed fewer than 24 credits, upload your high school transcript.
- Upload your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) for next year.
- Enter your EFC that is on your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR).
- UPLOAD: Please upload your Financial Aid Award Letter from the college you will attend. This document will be required before an award can be determined and should include: college name, applicant name, loans, grants and scholarships offered.
- Upload documentation from the school you plan to attend that shows your total cost of attendance.
- List the names of any siblings, their age(s), and what school(s) they are attending (if any)
- If you wish to inform the reviewers of any unusual financial circumstances, including costs associated with your education or educational loans already incurred for or by you, please provide here. Please note that tax forms, W-2s or other documentation may be requested to verify information on the FAFSA Student Aid Report.
- SCHOLARSHIP CENTRAL RECOMMENDATION: If you filled out the recommendation question on your General Application, please select it from the drop down below.
