Fred E. Kiefer and Florence E. Kiefer Scholarship
The Fred E. and Florence E. Kiefer Scholarship supports St. Louis area current college students who are active in their church and have financial need. This opportunity was established in 1997 by St. Louis residents Fred and Florence Kiefer.
Eligibility
Based on the goals of Mr. and Mrs. Kiefer, recipients of the scholarship award will:
- be a current, undergraduate, college student
- be from the St. Louis metropolitan region,
- be an active member of a church or school-related church group,
- maintain at least a B academic record (3.0 on a 4-point scale), and

- have unmet financial need after all other forms of financial aid are applied (excluding loans).
Selection Criteria
Recipients will demonstrate evidence of church involvement, academic strength, and financial need, and will certify that they have no police record. Preference will be given to continuing college students and prior-year recipients. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Please answer all questions that apply to you, even if they are not marked “required.”
Renewal
Recipients may reapply for award consideration for a maximum of three years of undergraduate funding provided they continue to make satisfactory progress toward a degree and continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Please note that because the award amounts are based on available funding that can change from year to year, the amount of this scholarship award may change if a recipient applies for renewal awards in years to come.
Notification
Application status will be changed from submitted to either offered or denied in June. Applicants can view their status by logging in to their Scholarship Central account. Funds will be sent to the recipient’s school in August.
